Deep Blue See: An Exhibition for Child Abuse Prevention Month
April 1 – May 3, 2020
On view at Ground Floor Gallery on Artsy
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month (CAP Month) and, in recognition, Ground Floor Gallery has teamed up with the remarkable organization, Prevent Child Abuse America (PCA America) on an online exhibition exclusive to Artsy to help raise awareness. Little did we know our world would be turned upside down by now, making PCA America’s mission that much more critical for children who are housed in unhealthy environments.
In solidarity with the CAP Month 2020 color – blue! – our exhibition “Deep Blue See,” will be entirely comprised of original blue artworks in all media to help raise awareness. We’ve also commissioned artist Ellen Hackl Fagan to create a limited-edition “blue print” for prevention which will be released later in the month.
Collectively, we – artists, gallery, nonprofit, art lovers and advocates – embody the CAP Month theme: “Everyone can make great childhoods happen—especially you!” As we all know from experience, everyone in a child’s life plays a role in preventing child abuse and neglect: from devoted family members to our schools, caretakers, small businesses and other community stakeholders.
More than 40 artists have been selected to participate in “Deep Blue See.” Although the exhibition launched on April 1st as part of Ground Floor Gallery’s online exhibition platform, we’ll be adding new works to the show as it unfolds so please check back in regularly. 10% of sales will directly benefit Prevent Child Abuse America. In addition, artist Ellen Hackl Fagan’s “blue print” for prevention will be sold for $200 with $100 from each print directly benefitting the organization. The print will only be a limited edition of 50 so keep an eye out for the release so we can sell out and raise $5,000 for this essential cause!
See the show on Artsy HERE.
Ground Floor Gallery is proud to support PCA America’s message that people don’t need to have special skills or be a certain kind of person to help make great childhoods happen—all they have to be is willing. To learn more about how you can participate in CAP Month, please visit: preventchildabuse.org/capmonth2020.
As always, Ground Floor Gallery is happy to provide additional photos or information about the artwork. We are also open to discussing payment options including payment plans to fit your budget.
We hope those who are able to can support this important cause, the gallery and our artists in these trying times! Thanks for looking and be safe.
