Conceived in tandem with Gowanus Open Studios, “A Fluid Tapestry” pays tribute to the thriving artist community of Gowanus, Brooklyn by presenting new work by four dynamic, emerging talents based in the area:

John Richey

Keun Young Park

Melissa Dadourian

Tegan Brozyna

Each of these artists is steeped in a rich, mixed-media practice that incorporates textile, pattern or collage. They navigate from one medium to the next with ease, demonstrating their versatility, dedication to a complex practice, and facility with materials that are far from straightforward.

Meet the artists at our opening reception on Friday, October 19th – the evening kicking off Gowanus Open Studio Weekend!

Fellow Gowanus-based artist and writer, JoAnne McFarland will also be reading from her new poetry release that evening at 7:30pm. Make a night of it and swing by the official Gowanus Open Studios Kick-off Party at Gowanus Loft (61 9th Street) from 6-9pm!
